Ackley's Duffy HS, OA, NAJ "Duffy" with Helen

When I was engaged to my husband, 23 years ago, we went to see Mrs. Kenealy in Connecticut, and we got a Ch. Rockwood's Gold Striker son - Duffy II. He was a sable with no blaze and was the family pet He had a wonderful, peaceful life as the family charmer and he could jump a course of logs in the back yard and he also played family soccer although he made goals for either team . After 18 years he died of kidney failure - he just slipped into a coma quietly in our front yard in the shade of the oak tree in my husband's arms. Well, my husband kept on saying that we needed another Duffy, but we had to wait until he was reincarnated. On and off, I would try to find Mrs. Kenealy's phone number and couldn't find it. I would call Sheltie breeders or rescues and there would be no puppies. This went on for almost two years, then March 2nd, 2000, I called Aneita Frey and although she knew of no puppies she did have Mrs.Kenealy's phone number. I immediately called Mrs. Kenealy and not only did she remember us and our original Duffy, she had puppies that were Gold Striker great great great etc grandchildren born on March 1st. She said there was the runt of the litter that would grow up to look exactly like our Duffy II except that he would have a blaze. The second I told my husband, he said, "This must be Duffy reincarnated". And that is how the Duffy you know came into my life.
